5 UNDERRATED RUNNING EXERCISES 😮‍💨

Some of the most valuable exercises are the ones that improve your ability to balance, absorb force, control movement, and produce power on one leg.

Why does that matter? 🏃‍♂️

Because running is essentially thousands of single-leg movements repeated over and over again 🫪

They may not look like the hardest exercises in your program, but they help build the foundations that support both performance and resilience over the long run 💪

ITB issues? 💥

With Cape Town Marathon around the corner 🏃‍♂️ here’s something to keep in mind if you’re dealing with ITB issues heading into race day.

A lot of runners think ITB pain means the ITB itself is “tight” and needs stretching… but the ITB is actually fascia, not muscle tissue.

What’s often tight or overworked are the muscles around it, like the glutes and TFL.
That’s why improving hip mobility and movement quality can often help far more than aggressively stretching the side of your leg.

Here are 7 hip mobility exercises to help keep you moving well and feeling fresh for the weekend 👟

*These are general exercises and may not be suitable for everyone. If pain persists or keeps returning, it’s best to get assessed individually

Runner’s knee? 🏃‍♂️💥

If running, stairs, squats, or even long periods of sitting are starting to irritate your knee… you’re not alone.

Here are 9 exercises we often use to help improve strength, stability, and load tolerance around the knee 👊

Remember: these are general exercises, not every knee pain is the same.

If your symptoms keep hanging around, getting the right help can make a big difference 💪🏻
